Bordered by Broadway and Atlantic and Flushing Avenues, Bedford-Stuyvesant is a sprawling residential neighborhood located in the heart of Brooklyn. It is famous for its endless rows of Victorian brownstones and its archipelago of community gardens, and it has long been a cultural hub for the African-American community.

While dining and shopping options can be found throughout the neighborhood, residents and locals know that most of the action can be found on Bedford and Tompkins Avenues as well as Marcus Garvey and Malcolm X Boulevards. Peaches HotHouse serves up Nashville hot chicken, while Swell Dive is a Filipino-Tex-Mex mashup. For drinks, Casablanca Cocktail Lounge, Bed-Vyne Brew, and Moloko never fail to satisfy.

Herbert Von King Park is a lovely greenspace and a central gathering place. Designed by Olmsted and Vaux—the architects of Central Park and Prospect Park—it features an outdoor amphitheater along with BBQ pits, playgrounds, and recreational fields. Subway lines that serve the neighborhood include the A/C/M/J/Z/G.
